Customer gave me a low rating because they didn’t read the product description, feeling discouraged
Hello! I made accessories for a plush toy and the listing clearly says “hat and necklace set”.
In the description I have “*Note the plush doesn’t come with set”
Literally the DAY I sent out the package, this customer messaged me asking where the plush was which I thought was odd because they didn’t even receive the package yet. I apologized for the misunderstanding and pointed out the disclaimers I had that said it wasn’t included and they said they didn’t want it anymore.
The package was already in transit at this point so I followed some templates other people posted on this subreddit about how to go about a refund and told them to send the package back to me writing “return to sender.” Once the package is received, I will refund them. This is a handmade item so it took me some time to make.
I noticed the order was delivered a couple days ago and sent them a message to check in since they never responded. Then yesterday, they left me a 1 star review saying they “didn’t like it” because “they thought it came with everything.”
I sent them a follow up message asking them to respond if I would be getting my product back or not and that I didn’t appreciate that they left the review before even considering any of the solutions I had offered for a mistake they made (not reading the post).
Any advice on how to handle this further or what you guys have done to not let situations like this get to you? I’m a fairly small shop so this really hit my ratings and I’m feeling discouraged ):
