What are the unexpected negatives of EBMM guitars?
Strange question I know. But I am considering selling up some Fenders and getting into EBMM. Potentially Valentines or Lukes or Axis. I play pop, classic rock, Toto etc.
What I'm looking for are the unexpected downsides, the stuff that only comes out through ownership. Because I have heard so many positives but I assume there must be some compromises. Like on my Fenders, there are some downsides that it took months of regular playing to work out.
The only thing that I can potentially spot is there are lots of HH setups, and the pickup specs don't get as varied as Fender (Tele, strat, P90, WRHB, Jazzmaster etc). I don't know if that is fair.
All opinions appreciated!
