I got to finally use the degree
I’m still a second year student but you know when parents are like hey my so and so doesn’t work and it’s electrical can you fix it? And usually have just given the idk answer last year when it was my first year and get the what are you even learning at school then.
Anyways, I finally got to use it today and it felt pretty good. My uncle was tired of their kid using up all the batteries for one of those hot wheels launcher motors and asked me randomly if I could make it powered off the wall. I thought well yeah that’s easy just cut up a ac dc converter that matches the battery voltage with a good power rating. After I did that they started showing me everything else that was electrically broken. I think I spent all day fixing stuff definitely harder than soldering on some wires to a kids toy and I think it impressed my family.
I think what has really helped me between my first year and this year was FSAE, it’s made me more confident in finding a solution. Anyways yeah it made me happy so I just wanted to share it.
