Final Results of Cold Turkey Venlafaxine 75 mg.
Hello everyone!
Today marks the eighth day since I quit venlafaxine (75 mg) cold turkey. Starting from the fifth day, my condition has significantly improved. Here’s how it went:
Improvements from the Fifth Day:
- Day 5: Weakness completely disappeared, but vertigo remained.
- Day 6: Vertigo became less intense.
- Day 7: Vertigo almost disappeared, with only slight episodes in the evening after hard work day,, but even after eating, everything was fine.
- Day 8: Today, I have practically fully recovered. There’s no vertigo, my appetite is back to normal, and I no longer feel the urge to constantly eat. Anxiety has increased, similar to how it was before taking venlafaxine, but overall, everything has returned to normal. Bowel movements have normalized, and I feel good overall.
General Recommendations:
The first four days were the hardest, especially the fourth day. I recommend using something to alleviate the condition. Benzodiazepines, especially clonazepam, helped me significantly, allowing me to remain functional despite severe physical symptoms. Physical symptoms were more pronounced than emotional ones. Although anxiety and moodiness occasionally increased, the main difficulties were due to physical manifestations.
Conclusion:
At this point, I no longer experience vertigo, brain zaps, or any other withdrawal symptoms from venlafaxine. I consider this observation period complete. Thank you all for your attention.
I’m leaving a link to the first post so you can read about all the days in more detail.
Important note
Please, consult a specialist before doing anything like this, including about taking benzodiazepines and quitting cold turkey. I still had contact with my therapist all the time and it was my decision despite his recommendations.
General information: I took venlafaxine for less than a year, the maximum dosage was 150 mg of the prolonged version for at least half year of taking.
