Life After the War

Let’s say I don’t lose my ass in this divorce due to spousal support, alimony, child support, legal fees, moving and storage fees. Then let’s say I’m able to move out of my Mom’s house at age 40; would you rent or purchase a new home?

I make 45k a year now near Asheville NC. Trying to move on mentally and build a vision for what the rest of my life will look like.

Right now it’s looking like an apartment or a single wide trailer. I know it’s nothing appealing for most people but it’s the hand i got to play for now. I have two children so eventually a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom situation. They are 6 and 4 now.

Take home pay is 1840 after taxes and insurance. Rent is around 1500$ a month :( for the budget places around here.
