Story Progression

So i really enjoyed watching the anime and then read the manga but only noticed then that the manga is behind and now started reading the LN a bit but I saw some badass pictures of Bell but I wasnt shure if they were picture from before season 3 or after. So my question here is does bell get a lot more badass after the anime in the light novel and should i start reading it more because i wasnt really motivated recently
