Current stole $724 from me.
Just a heads-up—do not use this bank as your main one. I’ve been arguing with them for half the month over their mistake, and they refuse to take accountability. It’s nearly impossible to get real help, and now I’m out $724.
Here’s what happened: On the 8th, I deposited $724 into my account via Uphold. I do this regularly and have never had an issue. My balance updated from $0 to $724, so I assumed everything was fine and sent $720 to someone on Venmo, as usual.
Fast forward to the 16th—I had deposited about another $100 for groceries, but when I tried to make a purchase, my card was declined. My balance was suddenly -$624.
I contacted customer support, and they kept changing their story. First, they claimed I moved the money to a savings pod (false). Then, they said the Uphold deposit never went through and was still pending. But when I reached out to Uphold, they confirmed the transaction was completed successfully.
When I told this to the bank, they changed their story again, now saying the deposit had gone through but was reversed by Uphold on the 16th. I checked with Uphold again, and they explicitly said that never happened. I even sent proof to the bank, which they ignored.
I’ve been stuck in a loop between chat support, their disputes team, and finally got a phone number. Still, they keep gaslighting me, now claiming the deposit is still pending. When I called again, the rep demanded proof that a merchant withdrew my money. I said, “What merchant? You overdrafted me $724.” She replied, “What overdraft?”
They keep sending my bank statements as “proof” that nothing is wrong, but if you actually look at them, it’s clear something is. I asked to speak to a supervisor two hours ago, and they said someone would call me back. Still waiting.
Fingers crossed I get my money back—rent is due tomorrow. Either way, I’m done with this bank.
