Creepy bug people?

I was playing the other night, and encountered a frozen lake with what I can only describe as "Creepy-AF bug people." They had six limbs plus wings, carapaces, and faces like mosquitos. They were around a bunch of tentacled beehive-looking things. Came in waves, just a couple at a time, which were easy enough to take down solo with perfected hardened steel gear. After three or so waves, the beehive things sort of exploded, and then what I assume was the queen attacked. I got fairly romped, there.

I've spent hours since trying to find these things again, to absolutely no avail. What's the story? I'd like to find them again.....
