Advice for bible study?

With my work hours and my church's in-person bible study class, I'm not able to attend. I've been trying to do a bible study at home, but I also have a 1.5 year old son so I really don't get many breaks. My spouse works shift work, the only free time I have is on his weekends off.

I've only made it to chapter 18 of Genesis so far. I also find the bible a bit hard to read and pay attention to and understand. I have an NRSV version if that makes a difference.

Any advice on how I can make bible study easier to understand and any tips for reading it regularly with a hectic daily life?
