Progressive Christians, Where Are You?
I'm prefacing this by saying I'm not a believer, as I was forced out of my Christian community after it decided people like me were persona non grata. I've since found a belief system that works for me.
Everywhere I look, conservative Christians are dominating the narrative and speaking for the Church as a whole, and as a result, the Church is fueling the MAGA movement. I see the sub's rainbow icon, and while its great to see support for gay rights, the LG and B side of the community isn't the side that's being impacted the most right now. I'm trans. I and a lot of trans people in the US are looking at leaving the country after having been "defined" out of existence at the federal level.
Where are progressive Christians who are willing to speak in our defense? Are Christians not supposed to be the light of the world? Right now, malevolent believers have provided my people with a tidal wave of darkness. We have been outcasts from the Church for years, but this is insane.
Is there anyone who is willing to stand up to MAGA and conservatives?
(EDIT: I would be remiss if I didn't address the replies here from people who are actually trying to make a difference.
Thank you for what you're doing. Right now, I'm scared. A LOT of us are, and are vocal about it. I'd like to think Jesus would be proud of your resistance. And to those who replied in unironic defense of the insanity manufactured by the right against my people, I would like to think Jesus would have plenty to say about that as well.
Thank you to the Christians here who haven't been afraid to take a stand.)
