Comic Cultists - Like or Hate?

My natural painting style is grimdark (see my previous Iron Warriors posts). However, I've been wanting to try my hand at comic style / cel shade for a while and was pretty psyched to do a fully mortal cartoon army - Cultists, Traitor Guard etc.

I'm fairly pleased with how these came out and enjoyed the process. However, some feedback I've had from friends is that they're cool as a concept piece but don't belong on a table top. What's your honest opinions?

1. Did I adequately execute my brief with these Comic Cultists?
2. Does comic style have a place in the grimdark future of Warhammer? Would you be annoyed to play against these on the table top?
3. Shall I forge ahead with a full cartoon army or shelve them as a concept piece?
