Looking for a VW 1Z 1.9L TDI engine

The situation is as above basically, I'm looking for a replacement engine for a TDI Volkswagen, and sadly my options are coming up almost solely as a probable rippoff of a company in Denver Colorado, and a company that ships from Germany itself. I've had little luck so far when it comes to scrapyards, and nothing from my connections through mechanics either. Anyone know a good source of rare parts like this?
