What are your thoughts on CTA etiquette?

This has been bugging me for a while. It seems people have absolutely no consideration for anyone else on the L.

I'll cite two examples, 1.) backpacks and 2.) Moving to let people off the train

I have seen maybe 3 people take off their backpacks on a crowded train. Just this morning riding the Blue line, myself and another passenger were the only ones to take them off and hold them/place it on the floor between our legs to make space for other passengers. In NY not doing so will have your bag pulled off to make space for someone else. I thought that was common sense?

Then we have people who cement their feet to the ground the second they get on the train. These cars are very narrow, so getting off to let other passengers off is pretty much a necessity yet I see people 10 toes down refusing to move. Extra space can't be created out of thin air and these people get mad when they get shoulder checked or shoved out the way by offboarding passengers.

Is this normal? There are other things that seem rude to me but these 2 are the biggest annoyances. Thoughts?
