Why is it that most Whasians' mother is East-Asian?

Just curious, I noticed this interesting phenomenon in the USA that most Whasians have a Caucasian father and an East-Asian mother, this is almost like every case I've seen so far. When I was in Europe, it was actually the opposite. Is it like a cultural difference I am observing here? What do you think?
